I’m baaaaaack…
At least for a little while.
It has been an entire quarter that i have not updated. I just simply did not have time time. If I told you how busy it seemed I was this quarter, none of you would actually believe it. But, it is true. I probably could have updated, but I just did not have the motivation.
Anywho, I’m back, and with a vengance. The last quarter of school took a lot out of me. It was also the first time in a VERY long time (since like middle school or maybe earlier) that I receive a C on my grade card. I am no on the Dean’s List, and i am sad about it. It seems a lot of people with far lower intelligence are, and that makes me feel stupid about myself. It is all because of this fucking Bis Law class that sucked.
But, I took a few lessons away from this quarter because of that. Many events happened in my life over the past 3 months which have helped me grow, strengthen, and mature as a person. However, I still remain my childish self. I think about all that happened and it just seems like a blur. Even though it was only 3 months, it seems like it was so distant…like maybe a year or so away. That’s crazy to me. I wish I could just stop to think about all that happened, recall it, and remember it. The sad part is that a lot of it will be gone, and just turn in the hum drum of my normal life.
I had a great time this quarter, honestly. It ranks up there with one of the best. But, now I face the dreaded winter quarter. I know it will be difficult, sad, bad, and blah. I am hoping for the best in my remaining 5 quarter of college (CAN YOU BELIEVE IT?!?!?!)
For those of you who clebrate it, Happy Thanksgiving and a Merry Christmas if I don’t update until then.

Happy Birthday To ME!
Today is my birthday. My 21st to be specific.
And….it sucks.
I spent the day getting up early (no being able to sleep in) and setting up a picnic for my grandma’s birthday (which is Monday). That’s fine. She will be 88..she DESERVES TO CELEBRATE. But…so do I. All on our each respective day. So I went there, did that in the blistering heat, sun, and humidity. I was borderline miserable. Plus…nobody even remembered or thought about it being my day. So I was just like whatever. UGH. I don’t expect fanfare and the like…but its nice for people to at least ACKNOWLEDGE my day. But not really.
(later on in the day my gma even told the other half of my family (which I hadnt seen since i was like 10) that I go to Ohio Northern. Thanks gma).
So being surrounded with 30 people (half of which don’t even KNOW me and I don’t know them) it was a great day. I was so tired I just came back home and slept for a long while.
so now what great plans do I have for my 21st? Well…nothing really. not a thing. going to bed early probably. wasting time and my life infront of the PC and doing nothing. Not going out. Not celebrating, NOT DRINKING, nothing. So…Happy birthday to me. I’m miserable.
EDIT: I also received ZERO cards in the mail today. that’s nice.
But…my lovely friends DID write on my facebook wall! I appreciate that…and they were the nicest things that happened all day…and made me feel loved and happy. Thanks!
Tomorrow…I get to go to my brother’s birthday party…where I will once again be ignored and not celebrated at all. But…at least it won’t be my bday anymore…so it won’t really matter. It will be done and overwith.
Can it just be 11:59 already???? kthanxbye.

lack of events
I would have written a post earlier, but to tell you the truth…nothing has been going on. I have been interning and just carrying on with life. The norm. Nothing exciting…that’s for sure.
I did clean out my closet today and threw (got rid of) a lot of clothes, shoes, etc. Some of them were really old…like from freshman year of HS. others I don’t wear anymore, etc…they’re gone b/c i didn’t have room.
Other than that…nothing new. It is hot. It is summer. I fixed a nice dinner casserole. It was grand.
Other than that…I finished my white strips today. They really worked. Took some time, but the results are good.
Interning tomorrow (Im sooooo gonna miss everyone there). Not sure what I am doing on Friday…I may actually intern again…not sure yet. If not…I’ll take it easy. Maybe start packing some…and then I would like to go out to eat for my birthday.
Other than that…I am just really annoyed and disappointed about my birthday already. I wish it would hurry up and be over…cuz I know it is going to suck and it is just going to make me upset. BUUH.
I am ready to head back to school…live in my apartment with my friends. I am really excited about that. Plus work and class and such. IT will be fun to be back and see each other again.
Thats about all…I have rambled enough…and made a long post out of nothing. So…take care, enjoy. And until next time. Goodbye.

I have a new liscense…
Yes. I am now 21…and I got it renewed. In the great state of Ohio…that means i am now horizontal instead of vertical. What a milestone. lol.
I also ran 209348092348908 other errands today…
Oil change, etc.
I am so getting ready for school. But…I am also sooo ready to stop doing all of these stupid things on my to do list…all of which require money…something i don’t have much of.

End of Summer
So there are officially less than 2 weeks left in my summer. Honestly…I don’t know where it went. The next 2 weeks will absolutely fly by because I will be so busy getting stuff ready to go back to school and such. I finished my summer job yesterday…still at the internship until school starts. MY summer was bland, boring, and for the most part, uneventful. I took a vacation at the very beginning…but it seems like that barely even happened. I am sad to see summer over as it is my favorite time. But, it was not much fun. I am ready to return to school, my friends, etc. This year is looking to be a great time…and I hope it is wonderful.
Mean while. I have been getting my to do list done as much as i can. as soon as I cross something off, i have to put one or two things on. just the way it works. and…I am out of cash…even though i’ll have to spend like…200-300 bucks before i even leave for school. I get paid wendesday, but that check will be nothing.
I have to get an oil change, renew my liscense, buy a nw pair of sunglasses, and much much more. plus all of the supplies to go back to school. I am just overwhelemd and disapointed.
on another note…nobody has asked me what i want for my birthday…nobody in my family except my mom. which…she dind’t really ask…she just paid for some of the things i was buying and said happy birthday. so woo!
Yeah…I am pretty much hating everything right now and really need a change.
The good thing is that in just 6 short days…I will be able to drink away my problems…if thats something to look forward to.
BAAAAHHH for now.

BK Bather makes my day interesting…
So its another day at the internship…but things are getting REAL good now.
And on days when there is no noon show b/c of olympics…it becomes slow. But, a desolate newsroom creates more work that the intern can actually do. Plus, people called in sick today (including one of the executive producers) so we were a bit short staffed. I kicked in to help out, of course.
Then there are little gems like the BK Bather that come along and make things interesting. Here’s the deal. Last night on the midnight news (delayed b/c of olympics on NBC) on of our reporters broke the story about a guy taking a bath in a Burger King Sink in Xenia, Ohio. By morning it was a national sensation with links to her story appearing on Drudge Report, MSNBC, FOX, etc. It is a sensation now. And…Inside Edition caught word of the story, made contact with the guy (age 25) who calls himself Mr. Unstable. Turns out they booked our studio and sat truck so he could come in and do an interview. He makes his way to the station, does his thing with Inside Edition, and then our reporter has a turn with him…making our hits and ratings go up even more. Not to mention that our logo and studio appeared on Inside Edition’s National Broadcast tonight. fun.
I went in the studio and peeked in on the interviews – the guy is a nut. Crazy hair and makeup…the whole bit. Anyways…that made it interesting.
I also wrote some stories or the 5, as per usual. And…since we didn’t have a whole lot of personell today, I took up answering the phones and such. I also booked a few interviews tomorrow…so that took some phone tagging, etc to do. We have interviews lined up with a former hometown Olympian, Schul, and a coworker and friend of a current Olympian, Fountain. I arranged and landed those. Also put in a few other stories into the futures and newstips!
Run scripts to the set and talked to people in Parkervision…fun. I am getting the hang of it now…getting to do a lot…and learning a TON as always. Fun stuff. I don’t want it to be over. And will try to put in some more time before I go back to school.
So much to do yet. Maybe i’ll blog in the next day or so about all of the other things going on in my life right now as well as back to school preparations.
ttfn…I am off to do Crest White Strips and watch Bravo TV!

Goals for the new school year.
Here they are. I got to thinking about some of them today while I was at work. When you water for 8 hours straight….you think about a lot…and these were my thoughts of the day.
Goals for the 08-09 school year
- Join RTNDA
- Meet new people
- explore more of athens
- go to strouds
- have fun at the apt.
- take advantage of being 21 (checkin out the bars)
- become more independent (and accept being alone as something that is ok)

- produce and move into TV at WOUB
Go confidently in the direction of your dreams! Live the life you’ve imagined. As you simplify your life, the laws of the universe will be simpler.

Internship Update
The days of working local TV news are exciting. For me. At lease for now.
I am enjoying my internship. It is filled with excitement and all sorts of new opportunities and learning experiences. I know I am going to miss it when I go back to school. I took my internship early — before I had ANY Tv classes at the college level. So…going into it knowing only radio has opened my eyes to all sorts of lovely things. I will sadly miss a commercial broadcast when I have to do classroom stuff and realize that we have no live trucks, no satellites, no mobile newsrooms or bureaus. It will be such a bummer to have “in studio” shots as the only option. Oh well. Someday I will work in the commercial business.
But, on a daily basis I learn something new. Have a new experience, get to do something different, etc. Just today, I learned how to do VOD stuff and dub it to tape. I also learned how to roll on a live satellite feed. Its nice to know. I have, now, and understanding of the newsroom, gathering, and the whole process. I know how it works, what has to be done, and I am learning HOW to do it. I am helping as much as I can around the newsroom…and I am loving it. I love it when there is breaking news and lots of things have to happen all at once. Its exciting, adrenaline rush, etc. I love it…
I am writing as many stories as I can. VOs, VOSOTs, Packages, etc. Its fun to get something raw, turn it around to a script, look up video, cue it, package it, edit it, and program all of the CGs and presenter instructions. I really like it…and when I do it COMPLETELY on my own…its even more satisfying.
So when I go home at night and see my work on the TV…it is awesome. I am also learning all of the behind the scenes stuff and am able to pick it out and realize it on air. its fun.
In other news…we start our new graphics package tomorrow…changing the look and feel and moving our bug to the right instead of old left. fun and neat. We also took a power hit at the station this AM which made some of the computers and servers, etc go wacky. And out IT guy is out on vaca…that was fun. We also lost CC for about all of the 90 minutes. FCC will love us for that…(so will the deaf).
In other news. I took a shopping spree today after work and now have no money. But it felt good. I bought 3 pairs of shorts and 2 polos. NICE. I wanted a hat from hollister that I saw online…but they didn’t have it in the store…and i was pissed. I REALLY WANTED IT. ugh.
thats all. Time for white strips and Kathy Griffin.
